Hello!  I am Jennifer, a clinical psychologist based in the suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.

I have expertise in mental health and you have expertise in your life, needs, goals, and all things you. Together we show up as two humans with different expertise, working together to create solutions.

I believe change happens at the pace of trust.  I will show up non-judgmentally because all dysfunctional behaviours have function. Whether its anger, self-harm, substance misuse, avoidance, unpleasant intrusive thoughts or something else, I take a curious approach and work with you to understand the function behind the issues so we can find solutions together.

I have a deep clinical interest in complex trauma, dissociation, and re-occurring life stressors, I treat each client within their unique environment and at a pace that feels entirely safe for them.  I welcome all ages, neurotypes, cultures, genders, and sexualities.

My therapeutic framework is integrative and evidence-based: I blend different approaches to suit your individual needs.  Whether we are processing deep-seated trauma through EMDR, Schema Therapy, or Ego State Therapy, or establishing day-to-day stability using CBT, DBT, and ACT, my ultimate goal is to help you find or create your best self and move toward a meaningful, valued life.

Wanting deeper work?
We can work beneath the surface to process past trauma, heal vulnerable inner parts, and break free from deeply ingrained life traps or "schemas" that keep you stuck. I use evidence-based models including EMDR, Schema Therapy & Ego State Therapy to achieve this.

Wanting practical skills to navigate overwhelming emotions?
I use CBT and DBT to build practical, everyday foundations to help you navigate overwhelming emotional storms, manage distress, and rewrite unhelpful thinking patterns. I use ACT when you want help to accept what you cannot change, connect with your core values, and take committed action toward a meaningful life.

Do you or your child need advocacy or support for school related issues?

I use child-directed play therapy and build a relationship with your child. My child philosophy is that therapy gives your child a space solely dedicated to them. Over time, they internalise each consult and build up an internal working knowledge of themselves as interesting, delighted in, and capable of making safe choices. I weave in understanding of emotions, thoughts and actions in a manner appropriate to your child's age and developmental status. I include parents as much as possible with a goal to strengthen your relationship with your child and understand their behaviours of concern from the function underlying them. I can liaise with schools and other professionals as required.

Overarchingly, my approach is that no one is broken - your growth is simply obstructed. Together, we can clear the path, anchor your roots, and help you naturally unfold into your full potential.

Senior Clinical Psychologist

Ramsay Health Care

Joondalup Hospital Mental Health Unit

Commencing in this role in 2022, I played a key leadership role in the transition to a new, purpose-built mental health unit in 2024. I led the establishment of psychological services within the new facility, was responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic programs, group interventions, patient resources, assessment pathways and clinical processes that continue to support patient care and recovery. I worked within multidisciplinary teams contributing to care planning and risk management; leading psychological service delivery for consumers with severe and complex mental health presentations; supervised and mentored staff and students; delivered workforce education; and drove quality improvement initiatives. I would regularly collaborate with senior clinicians and service leaders to identify system improvements, implement evidence-based practice, and support strategic service development.

Founder & Principal Clinical Psychologist
Fleming Psychology

I established Fleming Psychology in 2015 and was responsible for the strategic development, operation and governance of the practice including the employment of administration and subcontracting to psychologists and allied health professionals. I wrote policies and procedures, navigated running a health business during the CoVID-19 Pandemic and navigated commercial leases, marketing and social media (not always very well!). I concurrently provided psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adolescents and adults presenting with a broad range of mental health, neurodevelopmental, and psychosocial concerns. I provided supervision to registrars and provisional psychologists to general registration/endorsement across this time.

In 2026, Fleming Psychology was retired to make space for Ocean & Oaktree Clinical Psychology - a new brand, a new chapter, and the same authenticity and support that Fleming Psychology has always offered.

Clinical Psychologist
St John of God Healthcare
Midland Public & Private Hospital

Working this role between 2019 and 2021, I commenced in maternity and paediatric wards, providing support and specialist assessment, formulation, and evidence-based intervention to individuals in hospital facing stress and change. I also worked across neurology and general medical wards and offered outpatient treatment, prior to moving to the inpatient mental health unit. Across all wards, I worked collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to support patients experiencing complex physical health, neurological, psychological, and psychosocial challenges. I delivered consultations, risk assessments, psychoeducation, and therapeutic interventions to promote adjustment, recovery, treatment adherence, and wellbeing. I contributed to discharge planning, care coordination, staff education, and service development initiatives while maintaining my typical high standard of clinical governance, documentation, and professional practice.

Clinical Psychologist: Group Facilitator
Healthe Care
Abbotsford Private Hospital

Over 12 months (2017-18) , I consulted casually to Abbotsford Hospital as a group faciliator for inpatient and outpatient programs. Groups were not manualised and I would tailor the content to the needs of the group, focusing on recovery from substance use, addiction and mental health difficulties.

Clinical Psychologist Registrar
Psychological Health Care & Deverneuil Psychology

Commencing my psychology career in 2012, I worked across two private practices providing psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment to adolescents and adults presenting with a broad range of mental health, neurodevelopmental and psychosocial concerns. These were contracting roles: 2 years for Psychological Health Care; and 3 years for Deverneuil Psychology.
